Curriculum

Start thinking like a programmer

This course will provide students with the knowledge, skills and experience to start their Python Programmer and Java associate certification journeys. Certification is a vital step in starting or changing to a career in software development as a junior software developer, software tester, or Systems designer. The course will teach you to think algorithmically, manipulate data, instruct computers to perform complex tasks, and build some basic human-computer interaction applications in the form of games.

Introduction to Python development

Over the first three months, the course will take you from being computer literate to being able to design, write, debug and use Python to solve a variety of computational problems. This section will also cultivate the basic concepts underlying software development technologies, and prepare you for the Object Oriented Programming concepts crucial to Java Development

  • Power BI - to build dashboards
  • Python - for programming and building models
You will solve fun problems like picking the best football team based on player stats as well as more practical problems like predicting which customer will take out a personal loan.
No. Even though there is complex maths behind some of the models, we won’t explicitly cover it. However, the material will be available for those who are interested in the details.
No. If you apply for a sponsorship however, there will be some documentation needed. 
At EXPLORE we have what is called the Belt system. You will receive points for completing tutorials, test results, project results and peer assessment. These points will build up and can be mapped to a certain belt level which ranger from white to black.
